The spaceship was eerily quiet at this time. I lay awake in the bedroom chambers, staring at the ceiling in a sort of daze. Maya's gentle snores were the only noise that could be heard in the deafening silence. My eyes glanced over at her bed, watching as she snorted and turned over,
Sighing I stood up.
If I couldnt sleep, then why try? I tiptoed past everyone.
Stopping as I walk into a chest. I looked up, realizing it was Dion who I walked into. He was the tallest of our crew, his head almost touching the top of the bedroom chambers.
Even though it was pitch black, I could tell he was smirking. "And where d'you think you're going? Its like three am." he whispered, laughing a little.
"Hey I'm not the only one awake." I mutter, rolling my eyes. "Besides I'm hungry. So move out the way. Also d'you have a torch? I cant see anything." I ask, yawning a little. He searches around in the dark for his suitcase, zipping it open loudly, shuffling around until I feel it in the palm of my hand. "There you go. Night. Or well, morning." He chuckles and clambers into his bed. "Morning. Besides I'll sleep in today, the ship runs on autopilot most of the time anyways." I smile and tiptoe to the ladder, torch held in my mouth. I make it upstairs to the eating chambers, walking into the kitchen to find three fresh chocolate donuts kept in a bowl with a yellow sticky note besides it. I smiled as I reached over, taking a bite into the first one, grabbing the note. 'You should really stop waking up so early' was scribbled over in huge letters by some recognizable handwriting, along with a smiley face drawn next to it. "Amir..." I muttered, rolling my eyes. Not even a week out in space and he's already turned into the "dad" of the crew. It felt nice to say crew. Me, Dion, Maya and Amir. The crew. Really it was just a group of friends in a funny-looking ship travelling to space. We'd designed the spaceship together, the four of us. There was a chamber for each of us. My chamber was the Art Chamber. It was full of canvases and paint and pictures and pencils. I loved sketching the four of us. Amir's was the Eating Chambers, God knows that boy loves food. Dions was the Music Chamber, him and his music. He says it's his therapy just like my art. And finally Maya's chamber, the Dance Chamber. Maya was the best dancer, and the only dancer in space. She'd won countless awards for her dancing. And together, we built the spaceship. The X4 Celestial Aircraft.
