CHAPTER 4: CONFIDENCE IS KEY
Big Detective Bob walked back onto the stage. He looked somewhat bewildered. “Well,” he said, adjusting his fancy (or not so fancy) golf cap. “Very... entertaining speech, William!” (He made this sentence sound truthful, although it really was not.)
The following words out of his mouth were VERY truthful. “William Barker, I will need you back on the stage.” Harry/William (I will call him this from now on, for he will be called this by his fellow workers) walked back up the steps leading onto the stage.
Big Detective Bob shook Harry/William’s hand rather vigorously. “Congratulations, William! Every detective that has received this award has continued to work here, but this year we have decided to alter the award-winning process. You have been promoted to work at the High Detective Office on the 1111th floor of the RADB! It will be a different, difficult and dangerous job. You will be working in the highest league there is at the RADB. And, if ya fall out the window for some sus reason, you’re dead. Got that?”
“Umm... yeeesss?” Harry/William said hesitantly.
“Great!” Big Detective Bob had a smile on his face for the first time in an hour. “You start on Monday next week.”
Suddenly, Harry/William remembered. His target (I don’t know if you remember, but Harry is a spy when he’s not William/Harry) was spotted on the 1111th floor! This could change his life forever!
“Do you accept the job?” Big Detective Bob was getting impatient.
Harry/William looked up at him, grinning from ear to ear. “Yeah, bruh. I do.”
Chapter 5: PROMOTION MOTION!
Things could not have been better. Harry/William was living the life up on the 1111th floor of the RADB. Every second of every minute of every hour of every day, he was bossing people around, looking for his target and almost falling out of the window.
It was on the 5th day of his promotion that he heard something peculiar in the next room. He looked this way and that before darting down the hall to examine the ‘MEN’S BATHROOM’ as it said on the door. Harry/William paused before entering. He could hear voices. The first voice was gruff and manly, the second was high and sounded rather scared.
“Well?” demanded the first voice. “Any sign of it?”
“No, sir,” the high voice replied.
The gruff voice growled and cleared his throat. “Hem-hem! Keep searching, Timothy. You never know where the Fire Crystal may be hiding...”
