CHRRRR! BRRM BRRM BRRM! You might think that’s the sound of something exciting! Well, not to be the party pooper, but it's not. I took out the cup from the coffee machine and handed it to $@LLY, our cafe robot.

“No worries. Take it to table 5 please. Oh and remember to call the plumber to fix our toilet. I’ll be on my break.” I informed.

I took off my apron, grabbed my Mochi Pouch and headed out the door. I made my way to the same place I’ve always gone. It was the Sen Wood. The only place that hasn’t been knocked down and replaced with high rise buildings. I carefully made my way down the steep hill, ensuring a steady balance on every step. To my surprise, my foot narrowly missed the ground! Before I could scream, I found myself tumbling down the cliff!

As soon as I landed, I rubbed my throbbing head and shook my head. I looked up. Just centimeters from my face was an elaborate bronze door handle. It was decorated with strange etchings which covered every space it could find. I squinted my eyes and tilted my head. Why does that look familiar? I thought. A rush of mixed feelings of confusion and uncomfortableness washed over me.

Without thinking, I reached for the handle and pulled the door open. I cautiously stepped inside, the floorboard creaking and groaning with every step. I gulped. My palms were dripping wet. The shelves were lined with battered and dusty books. These were bound to be from when my great grandfather was a kid. That was when the world was still clean and healthy. What a big mistake we have made now.

In light of the events, I took out my sparkly pink glasses I had recently got for my birthday. I pressed the record button on the side, scanning the room making sure to record every corner and every detail. To my surprise, the glasses seemed to reveal more than what could be seen with the naked eye.

It was an amulet. I slowly took off my glasses and picked it off of the ground. Five jades on the border and a pegasus in the middle. Somehow I felt drawn to it. Like, it was something that I had seen many times in my life. Shrugging, I stuffed it into my Mochi Pouch.
