A long time ago, there was a scientist named William Davidson who worked for NASA. Although he was only 47, his fine crop of black hair had somehow already turned white. He also had an identical twin named Draco Davidson who worked as a sweeper.
One day, he and his boss confirmed a very special meeting. It was for the spaceship that should carry astronauts to Mars. The date was 15th of August.
That night, William received a message. It was just the nearby space-launching station from the lab!
That day, as William was driving along the streets, just as he was going to turn right, there was a sign saying ‘Detour, Roadwork ahead’. That was when William had to do a big loop around the suburb. He was going to be so late!
Meanwhile, Draco was there, sweeping the streets with his dustpan. As he sat down under a shady tree near the gate, the boss ran up to him and caught Draco by the arm.
“Thank goodness you’re here!” The boss grinned, smiling from ear to ear.
“W w w what?” Stuttered Draco.
“For the spaceship launch party!”
“Erm.. oh yeah!”
“Then in you go!”
“But what about my dustpan??”
“Never mind about the whatever thing it was. Anyway, just get in!” and with that, the boss swung Draco over the reception desk.
“I think I might make it through this mess,” Draco muttered to himself.
All of a sudden, the spaceship shot up into thin air. It was a fabulous scene.
There was a trophy for the top scientist. It looked as if it was polished a million times in the last five minutes!
“The person who put most effort into this is William Davidson!” the boss announced.
Draco in disguise when up and held the trophy. It was a wonderful experience on stage.
Finally, the boss wanted to know more about him. He interviewed Draco but found out that he wasn’t the man he wanted.
“Who on earth are you, and why did you come to my party?!” the boss shouted angrily.
“I was William’s identical twin, and you were the one who insisted me to come and even threw me in! Draco protested.
“But anyway you get out of here!” the boss demanded. “I don’t want you lurking around in my office! Go and do your job!”
Draco slyly and crept out of the office.
From this story, I believe living is to know who you are, and know what you are doing. So never get into mischief and waste time on things you don’t even know why you are doing it.
