Ethan felt that sickening sensation in his stomach, that provoked feelings and questions. He felt light and stunned, in both amazement and shock. Ethan put his ear to the door, and realised his brothers and sisters had scattered. When he was 100 percent sure they were not there, he slowly opened his door. He poked his head out of the door, and his eyes darted around the hallway. He silently closed the door behind him, and crept across the room to a door. He opened it up, stepped inside, and closed as his eyes scanned his surroundings. There was a staircase leading up, so he tentatively took a step. Learning his lesson, he looked at the stairs as he went up, not wanting to fall over a dumb toy again. It was a good thing he was looking where he was going, because his old Christmas present was at the top of the stairs. ROBBY his robot dog. Ethan decided to power him on.
"I need you to find any trace of a library." Ethan said as he pushed the button on the back of his dogs head. he needed to find out more about the library and the time travel capabilities of the book. He hoped that something in his large attic would help. It was full of a bunch of junk, and would surely have something... Right?
"I am on. I will now find a trace of a library." Came the robotic voice. The dog trudged away, sniffing the air with his robotic nose. Ethan turned his attention away from the dog, and directed it towards the attic. He was in the middle of reading the blurb of a book when his dog barked:
"Master! Master!" He called. "I found one of your family heirlooms! I think that you are a descendant of the people that made a library called Alliwar?"
Ethan walked over as he pondered. He had seen or heard Alliwar before... He remembered that was the name of the library he was just in. He grabbed the book out of the robots mouth.
"Thank you ROBBY. You can now power off." His dogs white eyes turned off, and its head dropped slowly. Ethan opened the book, and on the first page, it said: 'lasted from 2025- 2324." Ethan pondered over those dates, and remembered something Jenny had said to him.
'What year is it?' He had asked.
Jenny answered: '2324. Why don't you know the year?'She had nervous-laughed.
Ethan's brain finally dinged.
"The Library is about to be destroyed!" He gaped. " I have to go back! I need to warn Jenny, and get everyone away!" Ethan had made up his mind. Ethan went back to his room, packed a bag, with water, food, and the book, with the Alliwar details. He grabbed the book out of his bag, and touched the page confidently. Instead of closing his eyes he let the lights blind him, knowing this might be the second last time he would ever do this. He soaked it all in, like a sponge. He was back in the library. He sighed a sigh of relief. He started to run to where he last saw Jenny, but stopped in his tracks when one of the staff gave him a dirty look. He bit his tongue and started to walk towards where he last saw Jenny.
"Jenny!" He yelled. Some other people in the library stopped and stared at him, as he sounded like a weirdo.
Her face appeared from behind the reserve shelf.
"Ethan?" She squinted. "Oh its you! I thought you got home to your time?"
Ethan could not stop himself from blurting out what he had discovered. He read her some things from the book, and shared some food and water with Jenny. When he had finished, Jenny face was so pale, she looked like a ghost.
"So your telling me my love and joy, the Library, is about to be destroyed, by your family rivals? With a bunch of lighters, and will burn the library down, just because your ancestors were framed?" Ethan nodded. "That is so messed up. Right. What are we to do?" Ethan pondered for a moment, and then he had an idea.
"What if we were to apologise for what my family did, even though we did not do anything?"
Jenny hugged Ethan. "Even if we lose, I just want to thank you for trying to save my pride and joy." Ethan liked getting hugged. He absorbed it in, and then realised that Jenny's nose looked exactly like Ethan's mothers.
"Jenny, what is your last name?"
"My full name is Jennifer Alexander Sanders. Why?"
Ethan's face broke into a smile. He tried to hide it. Ethan and Jenny Sanders. They were related. He did not want to freak Jenny out, so he just said:
"Because I want to tell the world who helped keep this library alive." Jenny smiled the same smile that Ethan had seconds earlier.
Then, there was a loud, distinctive knock at the one door. It was transparent, and Ethan did not like what he saw. People blocked Ethan from seeing the cars parked outside. The door rolled open, with auto slide. They had arrived.
