Paul Baggles. A mad scientist. Erica Whiteheart. An archaeologist. Bill Baker. A historian. Tom Munson. An art restoration expert. And many, many other members of the committee. But there was only one antagonist. Who was it? Stella Smith, the head of the committee, did not know. Neither did any of the members. But it was clear that someone was trying to sabotage the history event.
Now, you must be thinking: didn’t one of the members hate the committee for killing their mum? Unfortunately, he had died in a car crash two years ago. It was someone else altogether. But who? And why?
Jill Beasley was the mole. Why would she want to sabotage this important event, you ask? Well, she had a reason. Albeit a nonsensical one, yet still a reason. You see, Jill loved history. But she also thought a scavenger hunt was too modern. She believed history was only to be displayed the old way. Not with a global scavenger hunt. “Soon they’ll see,” she thought.
People back at the headquarters of Le Comité d'Histoire had just caught drift of a member of the committee itself trying to sabotage the event. Murmurs and rumours were beginning to spread. Dedicated historians were even anxious. Who could stop this mole? And how? No one knew. Someone had to act soon.
