The whole history committee took absolutely no notice of this small piece of information. One man, however, was suspicious. This was no big surprise as this man, Alistair Ezra, was one on the quirky side. For one, he absolutely DESPISED air conditioners. As he said, they put the “gust” in “disgusting”. Now, you might be wondering, what is this piece of information?
No one thought a book out of place in the souvenir shop of a history museum was suspicious. But Alistair thought otherwise. He had spied the committee head’s plan for the scavenger hunt. That specific book was part of it. He thought it was suspicious, but he didn’t want everyone to know about his spying-on-boss thing. He didn’t tell anyone. But then the next act of sabotage happened…
This one was more serious. It even included a historian temporarily turning detective mode. The mole meant serious harm to the society. The committee was supposed to showcase a new small fossil today. But the night before, there had been an explosion. Everyone had rushed to HQ as soon as they got the signal. “The fossil!” many wailed. “Alistair was correct to be alarmed before!”
But who was the mole? That was what historian-turned-detective, Lucia Baker, wanted to figure out. So she stayed and looked for clues. And there was one. A single clue. A small trail of crumbs. “Like Hansel and Gretel.” She smiled. Time to do some digging.
Lucia went round and discovered that not many Comitè members liked cookies or biscuits. Richard King, Baron Ronald, and Grace Patel were the main suspects. And, Lucia figured, there might be a next act of sabotage. And this one might be even more significant. But what, what could it be?
In a few days, there was excitement in the air. The scavenger hunt would begin tomorrow. Little did they know, things might not work out…
