Cleo immediately rode one of the hovercrafts to the university’s library, and as soon as she arrived, she began to furiously look at the history books about libraries, hoping she would find the library she went to. Redfern library, Epping library, Clambira library… That was it! Cleo picked up the newspaper article, with a title of “Clambira Library, ruined from a rock avalanche!” Her eyes scanned the article, Cora! Her name was mentioned here! The paragraph said, “20 year old Cora Clambira, granddaughter of the founder, barely made it out alive! She has claimed she was talking to someone named Cleo an hour before…” The ink was smudged, Cleo couldn’t read on. Was that her? She had to go back! After she took a picture for evidence, she sprinted back to her dorm, picked up the book, and got ready to time travel. She flipped to the last page, and closed her eyes.
When Cleo opened her eyes, she saw Cora in front of her. She ran towards her, speaking at the speed of light. Cora looked baffled, “Wait what?” she asked.
“The library is going to collapse!” cried Cleo “Hurry up we have to leave!”
“I’m not going! You’re lying! I thought you were my friend!” Cora tried to fight back the tears. Cleo realised she had hurt her friend, she might lose her friendship forever! “We have to! Believe me!” Cleo attempted to turn on her phone, only to her dismay that it didn’t work! She had to get her friend to go, before they were both trapped! Hastily, she grabbed her friend’s arm and tried to pull her towards the exit. “No! I will not go!” Cora bawled and tried to pull her arm away.
“Please! Cora…” Cleo tried one last time.
“But the others!” she replied, tears glistening in her eyes, as she stared at all the people whose lives may be at stake. Cleo realised they would have to develop a plan.
How would they get everyone out of the library safely? It seemed impossible. Cleo fidgeted with her bracelet that her mother had given her. “Hey where did you get that bracelet?” asked Cora “It looks similar to mine.” She pulled up her sleeve to show hers. “It’s one of a kind,” she told Cleo. “Extremely precious. But we’re running out of time. Now what’s the idea?” They discussed with each other, until they agreed on one idea. “Yelling at everyone?”
“No. What about telling the staff?”
“Wouldn’t it be too late by the time they say it to everyone else?”
“True. Wait, what do they use to tell messages to the whole library?”
“The loud speaker!”
Sprinting to the library microphone, they turned it one and Cleo screamed into the microphone, “Everyone leave! The library is going to collapse in less than an hour!” Everyone was shocked, stunned and the whole library froze for a moment. When they got back to their senses, everyone began clambering over one another, wanting to leave the library as soon as possible. Footsteps echoed in the room, as hundreds of people ran for their lives. “Also to answer your question earlier, I was given the bracelet from my mother, who said she received it from her mother,” Cleo told Cora.
“I gave this bracelet to my daughter before she got married,” Cora cried shocked, as she connected the dots.
“Wait, are you my relative?” asked Cleo.
“I was thinking the same thing!” exclaimed Cora.
“This is so exciting,” Cleo cried out happily. “I can’t belie-” Rumble rumble…
