Cliffhanger Adventures – Zaiden and The Lost Library of Knowledge
PREFACE
‘Just a bit more. Just a bit more time’ I thought. Then I remembered the situation. ‘I should of NOT picked it up.’ I struggled to tie up my worries and herd up my questions. But then one of my largest fears jumped into reality. And I was only 12.
500 years from now:
Zaiden whipped out his Z-Pad (Z-Pads could do (almost) anything such as: Diary, ALL the apps, drawing pad, scanner and bag and everything) he began to write in diary mode. This is his story.
Zaiden kicked the sand away. He was never going to be famous. No one was going to find the LLK (Lost Library of Knowledge). He wanted to go to his under-ground home, away from the strong radiation. Zaiden was sure he was the least famous person. He kicked the sand again, and fell down in to a chimney tucked away. He screamed the most devastating scream ever in the history of the most devastating screams. Everything came to a slow. Zaiden didn’t know if he was imagining it, or it was real. After all, it was the future. He noticed every single strange marking\etching on the walls and in crannies. He memorised them all with his photographic memory, and he noticed some of the etchings were also on stained-glass windows. Then everything stopped. Zaiden landed on the floor with a soft ‘thud’, thanks to his Z-3000 Boots (they were like super shoes). Colours called to him. Eerie music played. Zaiden also heard soft creaks and moans. For some reason, the colours and music reminded him of his to-be stepbrother A.K.A his:
furtive foe,
Nasty nemesis,
Evil enemy,
Terrible tormentor,
Annoying adversary,
Vexatious vilifier,
Slippery slanderer,
Disingenuous detractor,
Malicious malinger,
Shifty saboteur,
Pernicious persecutor,
Foul future step brother.
Zaiden’s heart exploded with fear, worry and excitement. All this happened in the time Zaiden gasped "woah".
Zaiden held his Z-Pad tightly, and wrote down all the words he needed to write. Zaiden decided to explore.
One eternity later: <-----------(joke)
Zaiden was tired and busted. He was hungry. No, not hungry. Starving. Zaiden clutched his stomach. Then he realised that it was way past hundredth bathtime. Eeeeeeeewww. Zaiden was thirsty, too. Luckily, he had bought his water bottle. He gulped down his water. Glug, glug, chug. Most of the library was ruined, but the history section wasn’t. Zaiden had read most of the books he could, although he had found the history books most fascinating. After all, he had learned a lot about 500 years ago. It turns out that he was Australian, and his best friend was Mexican. Now, in his time, there were only 3 continents. The continent’s names were: Ricshan, Dormanti, and Bombaldigash. “Anyways, back to exploring this ruin”, Zaiden reminded himself, beginning to walk some more. Then, out of the corner of his eye, Zaiden saw a section/isle that certainly wasn’t there before. How strange, Zaiden thought. He decided to explore that isle instead. Zaiden jogged slowly to the dark, rusty half-ruined section. It suddenly disappeared into blackness. Zaiden was super confused. Then he heard a soft metal clank. Zaiden saw a little round totem with an etching that didn’t look like any of the ones from the chimney from before. He studied it, then put the greenish-goldish totem in his pocket. Zaiden realised that some thing else in his pocket. It was a crystal. His crystal.
Is it still Monday?
He pulled out the crystal and held it up to the light. Everything happened in a blur as he was swept away to his home.
