Ethan was a 16 year old boy, who lived life at the limits. He had big dreams to one day become the most important person in history, but for what, he wasn't certain. But one thing is for certain, and that would be that Ethan would someday get his big chance.

It all started one beautiful sunny day, where Ethan built up his courage, enough to decide to go on a big, long walk. He wanted to travel to places of the world where no one had been before. Maybe this is how I am supposed to get famous, he had thought to himself, millions of times. He caught the nearest Helidrop, and went zooming all the way to a parching desert. Ethan had made sure he had packed a lot of water and food, enough to help him survive a week, or two and a few days, if he rationed, so he started his everlasting trek. Little did Ethan know, he would be returning soon, in just one sweat -ridden half-hour.

On his first 20 minutes on the adventure, Ethan saw a crumbled building materialise on the horizon. What could it be? Why was it there? What is it? These are the main questions that provoked curiosity in his mind. He reached for his bag, which contained his Onpha, which he quickly got out as he rapidly approached the vast ruins. Ruins, Ethan thought. That was what they were. He pressed the red circle, as he started to film the old building. Is this what he was going to be famous for? Finding these ruins of some kind?

He was walking and watching his Onpha as he filmed the collapsed structure, when he suddenly tripped over a object, and landed face first into the unpleasant sand. Ethan spat out most of the sand that was embedded in his mouth, before turning, and facing the object he fell over. He could not see anything, so he deduced he fell over nothing. As Ethan set down his heavy bag so he could get some water to work wonders on his dry throat, a loud BOOF! resonated from where he had put the bag down. He put the bag back on his shoulders, ignoring his quench for water, and felt where the noise had originated from. Rough texture embrace his hand, as he swept away the sand. His eyes widened as he gazed at what he had uncovered.

He could see the ripped pages, some fully ripped off, some partially ripped. He traced over the letters on the front cover. He had come to the deduction that this, was a book. The title read: Bryla Library. Questions resurfaced in Ethans brain. What is a library? This was one of the thousands that entered his brain. Realising his Onpha was still in th sand where he had fallen he grabbed it, and turned the book over, whilst filming. At this point, two things happened: 1. He got a million more views 2. He laid the book carefully in his bag, stopped filming on his Onpha, and called a Helidrop once more. It arrived in a matter of seconds, and Ethan began his venture home.

The Helidrop stopped around 5 minutes away from his house, Ethan ran home, and was huffing, and puffing when he neared the house. He fumbled with the key in his hand, trying to unlock the door, as his hands were sweaty, from running all the way home. He walked up the stairs, purposely missing the stair that creaked, while his eyes darted around the hallway upstairs, scanning for his siblings. Thinking he was clear, Ethan stepped out, and slipped over one of his brother's monster trucks, causing him to land face first onto the floor, with a loud BANG! He groaned, and rubbed his aching forehead, momentarily forgetting about his bag, with the book in it. He had unzipped his bag when getting out the key, and had been so hot, he had forgotten to zip it back up again, so when he fell, the contents of his bag lay sprawled across the floor.

His siblings ran out from their rooms, and stared at the mess that was their brother. His eyes opened, and he gazed out at his siblings, staring at him, as though he were more entertaining then a clown. Ethan's mind snapped back into order, and he immediately scooped his stuff back in his back, and paused when his 8 year old brother stepped on the library book, and dragged it with his foot. Ethan glared at him, as his brother bent down and picked it up.
"What is this?" Tom asked.
"Nothing!" Lied Ethan, as he snatched the book out of his brother's hands, grabbed his bag, and made a run for it.

Two siblings gave chase, but two just stayed there, looking at the sand, now embedded into the carpet. Ethan made it into his room, and only just had enough time to lock the door, before his siblings started knocking on his door, and demanding to be let in. He inspected the book, ignoring his siblings' knocks at the door. He scanned through the pages, only paying half of his attention to it, stopping on the last page, which was ripped. Ethan tentatively touched it, confused as to why it was blank. His stomach lurched. Light and loud noises overwhelmed his senses, just like a disco would. When he opened his eyes, and the feeling of nausea went away, he was no longer at his house. He was in a library.

Ethan tightly clutched his book unsure as to what happened. The library was full of people. Some were typing furiously on computers, some learning and reading, while others roamed the shelves, picking out the right book for them. Some people had special badges, and gave him a dirty look as they walked past. The badges read: Library Monitor. Ethan could see a bunch of busy and jolly people bustling around. Ethan explored the library, shocked the whole time. When he finished, he concluded that there were three main rooms: A computer room, a reading room, with shelves and books, and a community room, where there were a bunch of games to play. The smell of books overwhelmed Ethan's nose. He walked to the reading room, dazed. A young woman in her twenties who was putting books on reserve, looked at him, went back to work, then shock spread across her face, and she looked back at him. Ethan followed her gaze, and found out that she was looking at the book he was tightly clutching in his hands.
"Who... why are you holding that book? Actually, how are you holding that book? There is only one copy in the entire library! I am holding it right now!" She said waving the book around like crazy.
Ethan sighed, then added: "Maybe take a seat while I talk to you for a little. What is your name?"
"Jenny." She said, leading him to a seat.
"Ok. Thank you for your time,Jenny." Ethan said. He then explained to her all that had happened that very day.
Jenny looked genuinely flabbergasted, after Ethan had talked to her.
" So you're from the future.."
"Yes, that is at least what I think..."
Jenny stood up, her face impossible to read.
"Follow me."
Ethan did as he was told, and discovered a 4th room, which Jenny called the history room. She tapped a lanyard on a keypad, and tapped in a key-code. The door opened, and shut after they entered the room.
They looked around for a little, before Jenny found what she was looking for.
" Ethan! Come here,"
Ethan jogged over, and saw a sign that read: "Ripped pages."
Ethan and Jenny scanned and searched through the pile, and finally found a piece of paper that fitted perfectly into the book.
"Ok, I have to get back to work, otherwise, I might not have work to get back to."
"Thank you so much!" Ethan said.
Ethan asked where there would be glue, and Jenny said there was some in the work room. Ethan started to run, but Jenny stopped him and said: "No running in the library!", then, she went back to work, putting reserves on for people.
Ethan walked with the ripped page and book, and glued it back on. Once again, a lurching feeling filled Ethan, and he smiled, with his eyes open, embracing the lights and sounds.
"Yay!" He said to nobody. "Thank you Jenny!" He laughed and enjoyed the moment.
Ethan felt that sickening sensation in his stomach, that provoked feelings and questions. He felt light and stunned, in both amazement and shock. When Ethan had arrived back he put his ear to the door, and realised his brothers and sisters had scattered. When he was 100 percent sure they were not there, he slowly opened his door. He poked his head out of the door, and his eyes darted around the hallway. He silently closed the door behind him, and crept across the room to a door. He opened it up, stepped inside, and closed as his eyes scanned his surroundings. There was a staircase leading up, so he tentatively took a step. Learning his lesson, he looked at the stairs as he went up, not wanting to fall over a dumb toy again. It was a good thing he was looking where he was going, because his old Christmas present was at the top of the stairs. ROBBIE his robot dog. Ethan decided to power him on.
"I need you to find any trace of a library." Ethan said as he pushed the button on the back of his dogs head. he needed to find out more about the library and the time travel capabilities of the book. He hoped that something in his large attic would help. It was full of a bunch of junk, and would surely have something... Right?
"I am on. I will now find a trace of a library." Came the robotic voice. The dog trudged away, sniffing the air with his robotic nose. Ethan turned his attention away from the dog, and directed it towards the attic. He was in the middle of reading a random scroll, labelled 'The Apology' when his dog barked:
"Master! Master!" He called. "I found one of your family heirlooms! I think that you are a descendant of the people that made a library called Bryla?"
Ethan walked over as he pondered. He had seen or heard Bryla before... He remembered that was the name of the library he was just in. He grabbed the book out of the robots mouth.
"Thank you ROBBIE. You can now power off." His dogs white eyes turned off, and its head dropped slowly. Ethan opened the book, and on the first page, it said: 'lasted from 2025- 2324." Ethan pondered over those dates, and remembered something Jenny had said to him.
'What year is it?' He had asked.
Jenny answered: '2324. Why don't you know the year?'She had nervous-laughed.
Ethan's brain finally dinged.
"The Library is about to be destroyed!" He gaped. " I have to go back! I need to warn Jenny, and get everyone away!" Ethan had made up his mind. Ethan went back to his room, packed a bag, with water, food, and the book, with the Alliwar details. He grabbed the book out of his bag, and touched the page confidently. Instead of closing his eyes he let the lights blind him, knowing this might be the second last time he would ever do this. He soaked it all in, like a sponge. He was back in the library. He sighed a sigh of relief. He started to run to where he last saw Jenny, but stopped in his tracks when one of the staff gave him a dirty look. He bit his tongue and started to walk towards where he last saw Jenny.
"Jenny!" He yelled. Some other people in the library stopped and stared at him, as he sounded like a weirdo.
Her face appeared from behind the reserve shelf.
"Ethan?" She squinted. "Oh its you! I thought you got home to your time?"
Ethan could not stop himself from blurting out what he had discovered. He read her some things from the book, and shared some food and water with Jenny. When he had finished, Jenny face was so pale, she looked like a ghost.
"So your telling me my love and joy, the Library, is about to be destroyed, by your family rivals? With a bunch of lighters, and will burn the library down, because your ancestors robbed them ?" Ethan nodded. "That is so messed up. Two wrongs dont make a right. What are we to do?" Ethan pondered for a moment, and then he had an idea.
"What if we were to apologise for what my family did?"
Jenny hugged Ethan. "Even if we lose, I just want to thank you for trying to save my pride and joy." Ethan liked getting hugged. He absorbed it in, and when they released each other it was then that he then realised that Jenny's nose looked exactly like Ethan's mothers.
"Jenny, what is your last name?"
"My full name is Jennifer Alexander Sandert. Why?"
Ethan's face broke into a smile. He tried to hide it. Ethan and Jenny Sanders. They were related. He did not want to freak Jenny out, so he just said:
"Because I want to tell the world who helped keep this library alive." Jenny smiled the same smile that Ethan had seconds earlier.
Then, there was a loud, distinctive knock at the one door. It was transparent, and Ethan did not like what he saw. People blocked Ethan from seeing the cars parked outside. The door rolled open, with auto slide. They had arrived.
His mouth felt dry and brittle, but he knew what he had to do.He needed to say sorry, for the hideous crime his family had committed, and that was what he was going to do. He watched, numb as the door slid open, and one of the first ten humans came in. Fear washed over him, as sweat started to cluster on his face. When all ten of them where in, they started to talk amongst themselves, everyones eyes wide with fear. After a minute or so of silence, what Ethan presumed to be The Leader stepped forward. He wore a plain red shirt, with tight, black shorts. He had tattoos streaming down his body, enough to describe the whole life story of a 100 year old human.
"EVERYONE OUT!!!" He barked in his husky voice. After ten seconds only ten or so librarians remained, willing to give their all to save the library. But, this was not what Ethan needed. He needed a clear building with absolutely nobody in it, other than the library murderers, and himself. He leaned in close to Jenny and said:
"I need them out of here, do you hear me?" He asked gently and firmly at the same time. A look of determination resolved on Jennys face, and she quickly held onto her earpiece, and said something that Ethan could not hear. Soon, the library had only Jenny Ethan and the family rivals.
"I need you to leave as well, Jenny." He said, truthfully. Grief flashed on Jenny's face for a few seconds, but then was soon replaced with pride. She nodded once then took off, out the door. The murderers were staring at him intently, some glaring.
"Leave. Now. Kid." The Leader said.
His words echoed in the building, and Ethan felt absolutely terrified. He needed to centre himself, and find his courage. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened, a scroll was found in his hands. He looked around, and saw a robotic tail wag, before it disappeared, along with the tails owner. He read the title, and it said: 'The Apology'. A smile formed on Ethans face, before turning into a wholehearted grin. He knew ROBBIE was his favourite robot dog ever. Ethan stepped forward once. Then twice. Then again. Then four times. After 12 more steps, he was a table length away from The Leader.
"Before I leave, I want to make you a deal: that you will never ever see me again, if, and only if, you listen to what I have to say.
"You have five minutes." Grunted The Leader.
Ethan did not hesitate. He read from the start to finish on the scroll, occasionally looking up to see more and more people crying. When he was finished the heartwarming reading seesion, The Leader turned to him as one, singular tear dropped down the grown mans face.
"You... Have changed the way we think of the Sanderts. We apologise, and will stop burning down this precious library of yours. May I ask what you named the library?"
"Bryla. Bryla Library." Ethan responded automatically. This was met with more crying, and another singular tear from The Leader.
"That was my mothers name." He responded softly. He turned around and talked to his family, and when he turned around, Ethan was no longer there. He had taken this opportunity to run out the door, to say goodbye to Jenny. When he found her, she leapt at him, and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you." They said to each other in unison.
"I need to get back to my time." Ethan mentioned, but he didn't have to, because it was what they were both thinking about. He grabbed his bag, pulled out the book and his Onpha, and handed the bag and its other contents to Jenny. "I love you. Remember me, even if you throw away this bag." Jenny looked gobsmacked, and that was how Ethan left her, alone on the edge of the library, absolutely shocked.

Ethan, as it turns out, visited the not-so-ruined-ruin everyday after the library incident, and remembered Jenny every time he borrowed a book. Nobody knew that he went back in time to save the library, so he was still not important to the world, but on the inside, he felt supreme.
