An unfinished map
Early explorers charted their discoveries of land around the world — but as you can see, they didn't always get it right.
The Tasman Map shows the results of Dutch explorer Abel Tasman’s two voyages to the southern ocean between 1642 and 1644.
Tasman had not reached the east coast of Australia, so added dotted lines where he thought it might be. Unfortunately, this means there’s no New South Wales!
Make a mysterious map
Draw a map of your neighbourhood or house if you could only see it from one angle.
Mark some hidden treasure on your map and challenge someone to find it!
